Dowagiac is conveniently located in Southwestern Michigan approximately 45 miles from Kalamazoo, Michigan, 25 miles from South Bend, Indiana, 100 miles from downtown Chicago, Illinois, and 25 miles from the shores of Lake Michigan.

The Dowagiac High School Athletic Office is staffed by Athletic Director Greg Younger and his assistant Brenda Smith. Mr. Younger is currently in his 6th year at Dowagiac.

The school district encompasses 170 square miles. It includes the City of Dowagiac (population
6,500) and surrounding areas.

In 2008-09 Union High School had 611 students in grades 9-12. Administrators for the high school include Paul Hartsig, principal; Kelly Millin, assistant principal; and, Randy Yoder, student advocate.

We are classified by the Michigan High School Athletic Association as a Class B school. Dowagiac is a member of the Wolverine Conference.
