STUDENTS

• A REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS YOU MAY MAKE UP ONE (1) HOUR WEDNESDAY DURING AFTER SCHOOL DETENTION IN ROOM #308. STUDY TABLE IS AVAILABLE MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY AFTER SCHOOL. SEE MR. YODER IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
• Thursday, June 10^th and Friday, June 11^th are half days.  School will be dismissed at 10:39 am.

• There is a sign up sheet in the main office for any girls interested in playing golf next year.
• Test Out Form is now available in the guidance office.  Deadline to turn in form is Friday, June 11^th.
• A Young Republicans group is getting started in Cass County and you're invited to join! Learn about local, state, and national government in action, meet elected officials from State and National offices, and build your own leadership skills and knowledge while meeting new friends from around the County! Call Aaron at 517.588.1913 or e-mail him at ahorner@swmich.edu to get involved.
• During the summer all student files will be deleted from the file servers.  If you have any documents or files that you would like to keep you will need to save those files to an external source such as a flash drive. No backups of these files will be kept by the school.
• Students due to an excessive amount of outstanding charges, there will be no charging of food until further notice.
• Students this is a reminder that driving to and from school is a privilege and not a right.  Any erratic or unsafe driving in any parking lot at DUHS may result in the loss of driving privileges for the remainder of the year.  Please be safe.
• If you made a down payment on a yearbook, you will want to pay the balance before you leave. The yearbooks will be arriving in the fall. The balance may be paid to Mrs. Frantz in room 158.

GUIDANCE

• Attention ALL students…..Now is the time to see your counselor about signing up for summer school courses – APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE!  As a reminder, every student must complete 4 years of English and Math in order to graduate.  It is important to review your transcript with your counselor to see if you are on track.  See them as soon as possible!!

ANNOUNCEMENT FROM DOWAGIAC POLICE DEPARTMENT

• The Dowagiac Police Department would like to congratulate all Dowagiac Union Schools students on an outstanding school year.  Although summer is a fun and exciting time for students, the department would like to remind students of city ordinances for the downtown business district of the City of Dowagiac.

City sidewalks as well as entrances and exits to businesses can not be blocked to pedestrian traffic; there must be room for pedestrians to move about freely.  There are no bicycles allowed to be ridden on downtown sidewalks.  There are also no skateboards allowed to be ridden anywhere in the downtown business district.

Your help is needed to make downtown Dowagiac a fun and pleasant place to visit during the summer months.  We can all do our part by using appropriate language, obeying the ordinances (including curfews), and treating all visitors with courtesy and respect.

• There will be a meeting for any and all girls interested in playing basketball next year today right after school in the gym.

• If you really want to do something, you'll find a way. If you don't, you'll find an excuse.
  
   

ATHLETES

SPORTS PHYSICALS - Thursday, June 10, 2009 at Dowagiac Middle School.  Cost is $15.00. If you are currently in grades 6-11 and plan to play sports at school during the 2010-2011 school year, then you must have a physical on file in the Athletic Office before participating in sports next year. PLEASE stop by the main office or Athletic office and pick up the physical forms. They need to be filled out before your physical appointment.
