Below you will find some common examples of questions that prospective students as well as parents have asked. WHEN do we meet? Pathfinders follows the Dowagiac Union Schools’ calendar. Our daily schedule provides flexible hours of instruction. WHERE do we meet? Pathfinders is located at 501 N. Paul Street, in Dowagiac, on the curve where Paul Street meets Prairie Ronde Street. HOW do students become involved? Pathfinders Alternative Education follows an application and interview process. Applications are available in the office located at 501 N Paul Street. Pathfinders Adult Education uses a registration process. WHERE do I get an application and what do I do with it after its complete? Applications are available in the office. After that application/registration form is complete, it should be returned to the office and then an interview date and time are set for those under 18 years of age. Are the students you have in your program "bad" kids? Most, if not all of our kids, are generally good kids who have made a "bad" decision or have been around others who have made "bad" decisions. HOW long will it take to get my GED or diploma? Unfortunately, the answer to this question is not cut and dry. Students learn and retain knowledge at different rates. Therefore, it is impossible to tell someone how long it will take. Some students will be able to complete the GED or the diploma in a matter of a couple of months while others it may take a couple of years. HOW much time will I have to put in? This is another question that is difficult to answer. Obviously, the more regularly a student attends class, the better retention there will be and therefore, the possibility of earning the GED or diploma in a shorter amount of time increases.
