Are you registered to vote? Any registered voter in the Dowagiac Union School District can vote on the 2025 sinking fund millage proposal. To register you must be a resident for at least 30 days, at least 18 years old, and a resident of the United States.
In-person registration deadline: Available up to and including on Election Day
You can register in person at your state or local election office, your state motor vehicles office, and at many government public assistance offices.

The Board of Education will hold its Regular Board Meeting, on October 20, 2025 in the PAC at Dowagiac Middle School at 6:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

Sinking Fund Millage Proposal

On November 4, 2025, voters in the Dowagiac Union Schools district will be presented with a Sinking Fund Millage Proposal set at 0.5 mill. For further information, please see the informational flyer. Key points to know and be aware of:
-.5 mills of debt on the middle school is expiring (paid off), so the .5 mills for a new sinking fund will keep tax rates the same from this year to next. No net increase.
-The sinking fund will generate between 400K-600k per year for sustainability and maintaining our current school district.
-Current priorities in the district include; middle school roof, transportation building repairs and updates, buses, repairs to the tennis courts.
