Message from the Superintendent: Good afternoon. The following information is NOT a Dowagiac Union event. I am sharing this in hopes of preventing concern or confusion. There is an Instagram and/or Snap Chat post that has been RECYCLED/SHARED multiple times which refers to an event that is supposed to happen on November 15. The statement was scribbled on what appears to be the wall of a bathroom stall. The student that is associated with the original post has NEVER been a Dowagiac student. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! On Friday October 22nd our mighty Dowagiac Chieftains will face the Niles Vikings in our PINK OUT game at Chris Taylor Alumni Field at 7 p.m. We ask that everyone wears PINK that day to school and to the game that evening. We will also be selling student tickets to the game in the office on Friday for $1. Please note that ALL elementary students must be accompanied by an adult to the game! LET'S GO CHIEFS!

Reminder: Tomorrow, 9/21, is the first of four community forums that are being held as part of the Board of Education’s Strategic Planning process. All parents, guardians, and community members are invited to attend one or all of the forums to be involved in the strategic planning for Dowagiac Schools. Jack Tempsey from the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) will be conducting the community forums on the following dates: Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021 Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021 Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021 Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021 ALL forums will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria at Dowagiac Middle School and last approximately an hour. Please plan on attending to give your input!
