Good afternoon parents and Guardians of Dowagiac Union Schools,
The weather forecast for tonight is describing some possible challenging weather coming our way. Because of this, students will be bringing home their tech/Chromebooks and learning materials. If the weather is severe enough, we will announce, as early as possible, that tomorrow will be a distance learning day.
If we have a distance learning day, we will follow the same schedules used earlier in the year. This idea is based on maximizing as much instructional time this year as possible.

Last night at a special BOE meeting and interviewing 4 qualified candidates, Brent Brewer was elected to fill the vacant seat on the BOE. The Board and the district welcomes Brent to his new role of trustee and look forward to working with him.
The Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 for the purpose of interviews for the vacant board seat. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m., and will be held at Dowagiac Middle School in the PAC.
There are four (4) candidates for the open board seat and candidates are listed in the order of their interviews.
