Hello DMS Chieftain Families, Public Safety has made us aware we can no longer allow families to park/stand in the entry area of our driveway in the morning. We have been informed it is a traffic hazard and does not allow emergency vehicles access to the building if a need should arise. Additionally, it has made it increasingly difficult for our district busses to get through to drop off students. It is for these reasons that we are requiring all of our families who arrive early to either drop their son or daughter off in the front of the building (where they will be able to wait until our doors open at 7:25 am) or park in our front or back parking lots. This will allow emergency vehicles access to the building along with our busses. It will also help alleviate the congestion many people have communicated they experience daily on Riverside Drive. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

On Wednesday November 24th, the combined DUHS/DMS choirs performed at Ramona Roller Rink for "Penny a Pound Night" to kick off our holiday season. Over 50 students participated in singing for our community at this event. Our Dowagiac Choir students had a blast caroling, eating pizza, and skating! We certainly have a lot of things to be thankful for and we love our community! You have two more chances to see our talented vocal music choirs perform before the end of 2021! DUS Choir Winter Concert - Thursday December 2nd 6:30pm at Dowagiac Middle School Annual Dowagiac Christmas Parade - Friday December 3rd 6:30pm outside City Hall. (We will also be selling hot chocolate for a $1!) Thank you Mr. Schuur and our talented students for being CHIEFTAINS!
