The deadline for transportation requests is tomorrow, July 26th. Any submissions received after this date may not be processed in time for the start of the school year. If submissions are received after the deadline, processing may take up to two weeks from the start of the school year. The Dowagiac Union Schools Technology Department is having a sale of older technology equipment on July 31 (9am-3pm) and August 1 (1pm-5pm). Here is a partial listing: Windows 10 desktops $10 each, flat screen monitors $5 each, USB keyboard/mouse $5 each, 500GB 2.5” hard drives $1 each, 1TB 3.5 inch hard drives $5 each, video projectors $15 each, and Chromebooks $30 to $50 each. Misc cables - free. The sale will be located at the Dowagiac Autoshop Building, 601 West Prairie Ronde. Questions - call 269-782-4477.

Reading is FUNdamental is still going strong! Students can come on any of the days available. Parents or guardians should sign students in and out. If special arrangements are needed, parents or guardians will need to send notes or make in-person contact with the teachers.

Starting today, July 8, 2024, the Central Office building will be moving into our summer hours. Our office will be open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and it will be closed on Fridays. These hours will run through Friday, August 2, 2024.

During Reading is FUNdamental, our students learned how to make homemade ice cream last week! We hope to see you at our next session tomorrow, July 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Save the Date! United Way is hosting the School Supply Spectacular. Please make sure to register online to receive a FREE backpack! This event is for students (pre-K to 12th grade) residing in or attending schools in Cass County only. Limited quantities are available! On August 8th, from 4-6 PM, we will be hosting a backpack pick-up at Dowagiac Union High School. Please see the attached flyer for more details. Make sure to scroll down on the website to click the location you will be picking up your supplies if the date for Dowagiac does not work for your schedule. Will your student need transportation for the 2024–25 school year? Parents and guardians are required to fill out a new form each year. Please fill out the online form by July 26th to ensure your child is able to ride the bus at the start of the school year. Link to the transportation form:

Check out our students enjoying Reading is FUNdamental! Students can come to one or all of the sessions that are available. We have sessions running on Tuesday, June 25, and Thursday, June 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We hope to see you there!

Our students had a blast on the first day at Reading is FUNdamental! The next session is this Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Students can attend even if they have not pre-registered. Parents are responsible for the transportation and supervision of their child to and from the summer reading and lunch programs. The reading program will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 18 through August 1. We hope to see you there!

All fifth-grade students participated in a collective field trip to Nitro Zone, where they engaged in arcade games before proceeding to the football field for lunch and a scavenger hunt. We extend our gratitude to the PTOs of each elementary school for coordinating this enjoyable event.
